Important Information for Septic Tank Owners
If your septic tank discharges directly to surface water, such as a river, stream, beck or ditch, the discharge does not comply with the General Binding Rules in England.
Existing direct discharges were required to be upgraded or replaced by 1 January 2020, or sooner where required by the Environment Agency.
If you are unsure whether your existing septic tank or drainage system complies with current requirements, Border Water Technologies can inspect the system, assess the discharge arrangements and advise on the appropriate options for upgrading or replacement.
